Estimating The Cost Of Your New Granite Counter Tops

It takes a little math and maybe a hand calculator, but getting
a good close estimate of your cost is not that hard. Each piece
of granite is cut from a rectangle. So measure length and width
in full inches. When you multiply length by width you get the total
square inches of that piece.

Start in one corner and work your way around the room until you
have finished. Don't forget the island, if you have one.

Standard kitchen cabinets are mostly 24 inches from front to back.
If you use 25 inches in your calculations, it takes care of the overhang.

Calculate each section length by width in inches. Add all the sections
totals together for total square inches. Then multiply by 1.03. This will
allow for a 3 percent waste factor. Then divide by 144 to get total square feet.

Congratulations. You're Done!!!
